Albany, GA – Woman Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Liberty Expy
Albany, GA (May 13, 2021) – Around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, May 11, a woman was killed in a pedestrian accident in Albany.
According to the Albany Police Department, the accident happened at 600 Liberty Expressway around the area of Slappey Boulevard. A 24-year-old woman was crossing the roadway from north to south when she was suddenly struck by a 2000 Dodge Dakota.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead as a result of traumatic injuries.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene to cooperate with the police but no charges have been brought.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
