Albany, GA – Truck Accident at Cordele Hwy & Doles Rd Intersection
Albany, GA (May 19, 2021) – At 1:15 a.m. on Wednesday morning, May 19, a serious truck accident with injuries occurred at an intersection in Albany.
According to the Dougherty County Police Department, the accident happened at the intersection of Cordele Highway and Doles Road. A Jeep was traveling in the area when it suddenly struck a car. This caused a tractor-trailer to strike another vehicle.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was cut out of his truck and rushed to the hospital with serious injuries. The drivers of the other vehicles had minor injuries as a result.
All lanes of traffic were blocked at different times, which led to delays until police were able to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
