Albany, GA – Teen Killed in Fatal Car Accident on N Westover Blvd
Albany, GA (July 19, 2021) – At 1:41 p.m. on the afternoon of Monday, July 19, a teen was killed in a fatal car accident in Albany.
According to Albany Police, the accident happened at 600 North Westover Boulevard. A 2013 Nissan was driving north when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to leave the road and strike a tree. This caused the vehicle to immediately catch on fire.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The passenger inside the vehicle, identified as a 17-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. The driver, who has not yet been formally identified, was hospitalized but is expected to recover.
Due to the severity of the crash, a large portion of the road was blocked in the area for some time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
