Albany, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Whiting Dr
Albany, GA (September 4, 2021) – At 9:30 p.m. on the night of Friday, September 3, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Albany.
According to the Albany Police Department, the accident happened at 1500 Whiting Drive. A vehicle was traveling south in the area when it started to make a turn into a driveway. Several pedestrians in the area were guiding the vehicle so that the driver could park. The driver suddenly struck a pedestrian identified as a 46-year-old man, causing him to become trapped under the vehicle.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene. The pedestrian was severely injured in the accident. He was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
