Albany, GA – Fatal Truck Accident at Sam’s Club on N Westover Blvd
Albany, GA (September 2, 2021) – Around 10:17 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, September 2, a fatal truck accident occurred in Albany.
According to Albany Police, the accident happened on North Westover Boulevard in the Sam’s Club parking lot. A vehicle was traveling around the back of the parking lot when it collided with a tractor-trailer in the area. The vehicle involved in the collision was extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene. A 55-year-old man inside the passenger vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. An 81-year-old woman who was a passenger in the vehicle was hospitalized with serious injuries. Her condition is not currently known.
The area was blocked for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
