Forest Park, GA (February 27, 2023) – A woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident that took place in Forest Park on Friday morning, February 24.

According to Clayton County Police, the accident happened at 2:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-75 around the area of the CW Grant Parkway. A woman was allegedly traveling on foot in the area when she was struck by a passenger vehicle. The driver of the vehicle stopped and remained at the scene until police arrived.

Paramedics, fire crews, and several other Clayton County responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to assist those in need. The pedestrian, who has only been identified as an adult female, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. The driver of the passenger vehicle that struck her was hospitalized with injuries but is expected to be okay.

All northbound lanes of traffic were blocked for several hours until police were able to clear the scene. This led to delays, and police urged those traveling in the area to seek alternate routes until the scene was fully cleared.
