Atlanta, GA – Two Killed in Fatal Car Accident in WB Lanes of I-285
Atlanta, GA (November 15, 2021) – On Monday morning, November 15, two people were killed in a fatal car accident on a highway in Atlanta.
According to police, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-285 before Bouldercrest Road. An adult male was driving along in his passenger vehicle when he suddenly lost control and slammed into the back of a second vehicle. The accident led to extensive damages to the vehicles involved.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Two people in the second vehicle, identified as a female driver and her passenger, were pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries. Another adult in that vehicle was hospitalized with critical injuries.
Police confirmed that the driver of the first vehicle remained at the scene. He was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and charges are pending against him at this time.
The roadway was blocked for several hours as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
