Reglan is a drug developed to increase the contractions of the stomach and small intestine. This aids the digestion process.
Reglan is also used as a treatment for severe heartburn caused by gastroesophageal reflux. Typically it has been given to patients for a short time when other treatments are not successful.
Side effects from the use of Reglan include tardive dyskinesia, characterized by the involuntary movement of the tongue, face, mouth, jaws and throat, as well as possible movements in the rest of your body. These movements are similar to those associated with Parkinson’s disease.
