Albany, GA – Fatal Car Accident at Newton Rd & Oakhaven Dr
Albany, GA (October 22, 2021) – At 6:30 p.m. on the evening of Friday, October 22, a fatal car accident occurred at an intersection in Albany.
According to Dougherty County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Newton Road and Oakhaven Drive. Three vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time, forcefully colliding with each other. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. A woman, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. One person was injured and hospitalized, though their current condition is not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
